Please read these Terms of Use carefully before using Lunarmates. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Lunarmates mobile application, the lunarmates.com website, and all related services (together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Mattrix ApS, Bymidten 65 1tv, 3500 Værløse, Denmark ("Lunarmates", "we", "us", or "our").
By registering for an account or using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. It would not make sense to use the Service on behalf of an organisation, but if for whatever reason you are, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organisation to these Terms and that the organisation may be liable for any damages including inappropriate use.
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Lunarmates regarding your use of the Service.
Lunarmates is a cycle awareness app designed to help men understand and navigate the menstrual cycle together with their partner. The Service allows:
The Service is provided as a progressive web application (PWA) accessible via browser at lunarmates.com. No separate app download is required.
Lunarmates reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time, with reasonable notice where practicable.
You must meet the following minimum age requirements to use Lunarmates:
By creating an account, you confirm that you meet the applicable minimum age for your jurisdiction. If we become aware that a user does not meet the applicable minimum age, we will delete their account and all associated data promptly. If you are aware of a user who does not meet the applicable minimum age, please contact us at [email protected].
Relationships are personal, and many aspects are deemed confidential. You confirm that you will not use the Service to reveal your partner's identity, in the Forum or anywhere else.
The information provided through the Service is intended for general awareness purposes and does not promote or encourage sexual behaviour among minors, nor does it substitute for active contraception methods, or provide relationship advice of any kind. If troubling behaviour occurs, seek professional medical or mental health support.
You may not use the Service if you have previously had your account suspended or terminated by Lunarmates for violation of these Terms.
To use the Service, you must register for an account using a valid email address and a password, or by signing in with Google. You agree to provide accurate information at registration and to keep it up to date.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.
Do not share your login credentials with any other person. If you share your credentials, that person will have full access to your account and any data associated with it, including cycle data, which may put you in breach of this contract.
Each person may hold one account. You may not create multiple accounts or transfer your account to another person. If you have had an account in the past but have since deleted it, you are welcome to open a new account.
Accounts are pre-filled with the display name "Lunarmate". You may change your display name in your account settings at any time. If you delete your account, or it goes dormant and gets deleted, Forum posts will revert to "Lunarmate". See the Privacy Policy for more information on what happens when a user is removed as a follower.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account if we determine, at our sole discretion, that you have violated any of the above.
The follow relationship is invite-only, and can go both ways: a woman can create an account, then generate and share an invite link with a man. A man can generate a link and send it to a woman he would like to follow, and she must accept and create an account. Lunarmates does not allow users to search for or find other users. An explicit invitation is required.
A follow relationship only becomes active when (1) the woman explicitly approves a follow request sent by a man by creating a profile and approving a request to be followed, or (2) when she creates an account and sends a request to be followed to a man. She may revoke any follower's access at any time from her account settings. Revocation is immediate and irreversible.
An approved follower can see the woman's registered cycle starts and future phase forecasts. Followers cannot see any detailed health logs, or any data beyond the cycle start and phase forecast calculated from it. Followers may make personal private notes to self that are not shared back with the woman.
A man may unfollow a woman at any time. Unfollowing is irreversible — to follow again, a new invite link must be shared and a new request approved. On unfollowing or on account deletion of either party, the man's personal notes related to that follow will expire after 90 days and be permanently deleted. Notes cannot be exported after a follow relationship has ended. See the Privacy Policy for more details.
The follow relationship is designed to help men be more attentive and supportive. Using cycle phase information to manipulate, pressure, exploit, or harm the woman you follow is a serious violation of these Terms and may result in immediate permanent account termination. Users alone are liable for their own actions. Lunarmates is designed and built to support relationships.
The Lunarmates Forum allows men to share observations and insights about cycle phases and days with the wider community of followers. The Forum is publicly readable — anyone with access to lunarmates.com can read Forum posts.
Only men with approved Lunarmates accounts may post to the Forum. You may post under your account name or a pseudonym of your choosing. Default username is set to "Lunarmate".
The Forum exists to help men support the women in their lives. The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate permanent removal from the platform:
Lunarmates reserves the right to remove any post that violates these Terms, without notice and without liability. We reserve the right to suspend or permanently remove any user who repeatedly or seriously violates the community standards above.
If you delete your account, your Forum posts are not automatically deleted — they may have enduring value to the community. Instead, your username or pseudonym on all posts is permanently replaced with "Lunarmate", and all links between those posts and your account or identity are irreversibly severed. If you wish to remove your posts entirely, you must delete them manually within the app before closing your account.
LUNARMATES IS NOT A LICENSED MEDICAL CARE PROVIDER AND THE SERVICE IS NOT INTENDED TO REPLACE PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL ADVICE, DIAGNOSIS, OR TREATMENT. THE SERVICE IS NOT A MEDICAL DEVICE AND MUST NOT BE USED AS A METHOD OF CONTRACEPTION OR TO FACILITATE OR PREVENT CONCEPTION. NEVER DISREGARD PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL ADVICE OR DELAY SEEKING IT BECAUSE OF SOMETHING YOU HAVE READ OR SEEN IN THE SERVICE. IF YOU THINK YOU HAVE A MEDICAL EMERGENCY, CALL EMERGENCY SERVICES IMMEDIATELY.
The cycle phase information and forecasts provided by the Service are generated from period start dates logged in the app and are intended for general awareness purposes only. They are estimates based on statistical patterns and may not accurately reflect any individual's cycle. We are trying our best, but Lunarmates makes no representation or warranty as to the accuracy of forecasts or predictions, and your use of this information is entirely at your own risk.
If you have concerns about your menstrual health, reproductive health, or any other medical matter, consult a qualified healthcare professional.
Your personal data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what rights you have over it.

The Service, including its design, software, text, graphics, and all other content created by Lunarmates, is owned by Mattrix ApS and is protected by Danish and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written permission. You may, however, share information that encourages others to use the Service, including logos, at any time and without permission.
You retain ownership of any content you create within the Service, including Forum posts. By posting to the Forum, you grant Lunarmates a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display and distribute that content as part of the Service. Personal notes to self are subject to a non-exportable 90-day deletion clause following the end of a follow relationship. See the Privacy Policy for more information.
You may close your account at any time from your account settings. Account deletion is immediate and irreversible. See the Privacy Policy for details of what happens to your data on deletion.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we determine that you have violated these Terms, if required by law, or if continuing to provide the Service to you is no longer practicable. Where possible, we will give you reasonable notice before termination.
On termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law — will continue to apply.
Your use of the Service and any cycle phase information, forecasts, or insights provided through it or through the Forum is at your sole risk. We make no representation or warranty of any kind as to the accuracy of data, estimates, comments, insights, or predictions, and the Service is not intended to match or serve the same purpose as a medical device or healthcare provider.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lunarmates and Mattrix ApS shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Lunarmates' total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed €100.
The Service relies on third-party infrastructure including browser push notification services operated by Google, Mozilla, and Apple. Lunarmates accepts no liability for delays, failures, or interruptions in service delivery caused by third-party infrastructure beyond our control.
Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Denmark.
If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you may also be entitled to the protection of mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence, and to refer disputes to your local courts or to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr.
Any claim arising from your use of the Service must be brought within two years of the date of the event giving rise to the claim, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If you do not agree to updated Terms, you may close your account before the changes take effect.
